University Roadshow @ Drumragh IC 2018

With thanks to ER&M we hosted the University Roadshow to our Year 13 students to inform them about the wide variety of third level opportunities available to them. It provided useful information for applying to universities in England, Scotland, Wales, the Republic of Ireland and Europe.
The presentation covered key areas such as:
·         Applying to university.
·         The interview process.
·         The UCAS application system.
·         The CAO application system.
·         Applying to universities that offer degrees taught through the medium of English throughout Europe.
·         Key areas in finance such as fees, loans, grants and scholarships available when studying in England,
Scotland, Republic of Ireland and Europe.
·         Budgeting for University.
·         Accommodation, travel and living expenses.
Students then had the opportunity to visit univesity representatives at their university stands where they asked questions and gain information about the universities.

Harry McGoldrick (Year 12) and Jack McGuire (Year 9) accompanied Principal Mr Nigel Frith to Lagan College in Belfast to represent Drumragh Integrated College at the 2018 NICIE Carson Bursary Award Ceremony. Delighted to be in company of many Integrated schools the group had a lovely afternoon mingling and being inspired by the meaning of Integration.

Jack enjoyed a coffee and a chat with local actor and director Mr Dan Gordon and even got a shout out from the famous Northern Irish Actor during his speech. Drumragh were thrilled to see their movie project, which the drama department worked on with talented director Tracey Kernaghan receive the bursary from the family of the late Frank Carson. The movie ‘Unpathed Waters and Undreamed Shores’ was an exciting creative piece of innovative theatre which explored the themes for individuals within an Integrated School about what disconnects them from themselves, and from society; because when this disconnection is realised, supported and acknowledged then healing, connection and integration are possible.

Makenna is on a roll with her sublime success in Archery this year. She is currently in South Africa, participating in the World Field & Hunter Championships, WFAC 2018.

The field and hunter is Makenna's favourite style, she has already taken top position in the regional Northern Ireland Field Archery Associations competitions and in July she took gold in the UK championships, UKIFAC 2018, setting a new record, two years running. Incredible.  We wish Makenna all the best, we are exceptionally proud here at Drumragh IC.

Our MacMillan Coffee Morning is in full swing, beginning with KS3. Pupils from our next door neighbours, Omagh Integrated Primary are arriving shortly. #drumraghmemories #macmillan#omaghintegratedcampus. Thank you as always for your support. ☕️
