Drumragh Integrated College would like to extend a warm welcome to our Primary 5 and 6 Challenge Taster Day. This exciting event will take place on Saturday 25th March from 9.30am – 2.30pm, and will allow the participants to engage actively in a range of educational and fun activities. In addition, one of the main aims of the day is to give these students a flavour of what lies ahead on their educational journey.

Students will be provided with a snack and lunch as part of the day and should come in casual clothes. The event is free. Registration is first come first served, with a closing date of 20th March.

On Saturday some members of the Connect group travelled to Belfast for the Scripture Union event UNITE.  SU groups from schools all around the country gathered together in the Ulster Hall to celebrate our unity in faith.  We travelled with pupils from Omagh Academy and made lots of new friends as well as experiencing a great night of fun and worship with hundreds of other young people.  #LetsUniteTogether

Drumragh IC Year 8 Netball team attended a cross community netball tournament at Drumglass High School, Dungannon today.  There were 8 schools in total.  The Drumragh team won five matches, drew one and lost two to reach the final.   The girls eventually lost out 2-1 against Cookstown High School in a very evenly contested, tightly fought match.  Cookstown scored the first goal, before Drumragh piled on the pressure to pull one back.  Cookstown went on and managed a goal to seal the result in the last few minutes of the game.  Well done team, you did us proud!!!

‘Drumragh Showjumpers’ have won the ‘School Team of the Year 2016’ at the Ulster Herald Sports Awards on Friday night!!  It was a very prestigious event with Frank Mitchell (UTV) guest speaker. This is a great milestone for the Drumragh students and this demonstrates exactly what excellent commitment and dedication can achieve.  We are so proud of you all, this is a tremendous achievement, that should not be underestimated!

Thank you to our very own Show Jumping coach Joan Potts and to all of you who voted!!!!

INTEGRATED EDUCATION MONTH 2017

Integrated Education Month 2017 launched on Friday (3 March) with a celebratory walk marking 35 years of integrated education in Northern Ireland.  The symbolic journey began with a small group of founding parents, pupils, staff, and friends who set out from Ardnavally Scout Centre, the original site of the first integrated school, Lagan College. They walked almost six miles to the front gates of the Stormont Estate.  Here they were met by more than 500 children, teachers, parents and supporters from integrated schools and colleges across Northern Ireland who joined the final mile of the walk to the steps of Parliament Buildings.

SUCCESS IN STOCK MARKET FOR DRUMRAGH STUDENTS

Year 11 students in Drumragh Integrated College took part in the newly revamped Stock Market Challenge last week. A lot of practice went into this before the actual competition last Tuesday. The top six schools in Northern Ireland are then invited to attend a Stock Market Final in Belfast on 13th March.

The Campaign Chair of the IEF, Baroness May Blood, was joined by a high-flying Irish American VIP at the site of the future Omagh Integrated Primary School and Children’s Centre on Friday (24 February). John Fitzpatrick, hotelier and chair of the Ireland Funds, flew in especially to join May and help officially open building work on the site which is next to Drumragh Integrated College.
The project will comprise not only a new 14-classroom school and nursery but also a children’s centre, which is being developed thanks to generous integrated education supporters. The work signals the beginning of the end of the mobile classrooms which have been home to Omagh IPS since it was opened, more than a quarter of a century ago. http://bit.ly/2lMhlPd
