Drumragh Integrated College are celebrating some of the best A level results in the college’s history

Press release regarding Drumragh’s AS and A-level results August 2014

Students, staff and parents from Drumragh Integrated College are celebrating some of the best A level results in the college’s history, with the number of students gaining three A*-C grades nearly 10% higher than predicted.

The college is delighted for the many students who have gained entry to the university courses or future options of their choice; this is a momentous next step for each one of them and they deserve their success.  The college congratulates them as they are rewarded for their talents, character and months of committed hard work. We also thank them for all they have given to the college community during their years of study here.

Drumragh continues to grow from strength to strength, and its 2014 A-level results provide ample evidence of this. Individual successes include the following.

Drumragh’s talented staff are proud of all those students who have achieved their personal best - and in some cases have done even better than was expected. To see students attain their goals through sheer hard work, determination and individual talent is a delight, and the college celebrates all of these successes rather than just those who have been awarded the top grades. Staff and students have worked hard together, in partnership with parents, and now can enjoy the fruits of all they have achieved.

The college is a strong, positive, inclusive learning community, and it is clear again from this year’s results that integrated education supports academic success for students of all abilities. It also fosters the growth of the whole person and encourages young people to develop mutual respect, generosity of spirit and strength of character. Let us say it again; integration provides a blueprint that should be embraced urgently by those who are shaping our political and social history.

The college’s vision embraces academic excellence, and we are fully aware that high exam results are important in this competitive world. We also need however to help our young people to discover their potential and to grow as rounded members of society. Our young people will build the Northern Ireland and the global society of tomorrow. This will not be done through exam results alone, but by developing as lifelong learners and by flying high despite the many pressures of the 21st century. Crucially, our definition of success also includes reaching out to others with open hands rather than clenched fists. We are, therefore, proud of all that our students have achieved in addition to their academic studies. We wish each one of them well for the future.
