We received this fantastic letter from Janis Scallon, Director of the Sustainable Schools Policy & Planning Directorate regarding our COVID-19 response and we would like to say a massive thank you for the compliment to the key worker parent and the department for contacting us to relay their appreciation.
The ‘Safer Schools’ app focuses on safeguarding particularly online and also provides information and messaging on a full range of safeguarding and child protection issues for children, parents/guardians and school staff.
Education Minister, Peter Weir has stated “I want to encourage all schools – parents and carers – to use this app. Keeping our children safe and ensuring their mental health and well-being is looked after has never been more important.”
The Safer Schools app, is available on App Store and Google Play. It can be accessed by children & young people at both primary and post primary level – please note the post primary app has been split into 3 versions depending on the age of the young person to ensure the content is relevant to them. Dear parent or guardian

On behalf of all our staff I would like to thank you for everything you are doing to support your son or daughter in these challenging times and to ask for your continued support if your son or daughter is in Key Stage 3 or Year 11, as we travel along on this uncertain journey together.

The Department has collated a range of online resources which are intended to be helpful to families and pupils during the Covid-19 situation.

Information is available across all sectors and we will continue to update and expand on these links going forward. In the meantime, please feel free to share this link with families / parents.

If you have a particular online resource that you feel may be of benefit to others, please feel free to share it with us and we will look at where best it fits with the resources already provided.

Dear student, parent or guardian, CCEA have now released the guidance we have been waiting on for our Y14, Y12, Y13 and Y11 students. You will find it along with this message. It is detailed but we now know what has to be done. Our teachers are aware of the guidance and our Senior Leadership are meeting on Monday to move forward with what needs to be done. Can I refer you to the statement that teachers are not allowed to share information with students or parents/guardians at this time.

Thank you for your patience and support. It is very much appreciated.

We hope you and your loved ones are all staying safe and well at this anxious time. At Drumragh Integrated College we are very grateful and appreciative of you, our past and present pupils and your families who are being tremendously brave on the frontline at this time.

We would like to say a huge thank you to all of you working on the front line helping us get through this COVID-19 crisis who are going to work every day to make sure that we remain safe and healthy.

Every day I get messages from your teachers telling me how amazing you are, how you have embraced the challenges you have been presented with, and how you continue to inspire them with your dedication and eagerness to learn. They also tell me, and other members of our Senior Leadership Team about your concerns for the future. Right now, please know that every single member of staff is doing his or her very best to ensure you achieve the success you have worked so hard for, and richly deserve. We want you to succeed just as much as you do, and we are doing absolutely everything we can to ensure you success. Please be reassured that you are not alone and you have our full support.
